At the General Assembly of EULITA, which was held in Krakow, Poland, on 5 April 2014, the Executive Committee for the next three years (2014 – 2017) was elected. Liese Katschinka (Austria), President, Christiane Driesen (Germany), Vice-President, Zofia Rybinska (Poland), Vice-President, Katy Stifterova (Czech Republic), Secretary, Lucía Castaño-Castaño (Spain), Treasurer, and Flavia Caciagli (Italy) were re-elected and will serve a second mandate. Geoffrey Buckingham, United Kingdom, is the new man on the team.

The European Court of Human Rights is compiling a list of published English or French translations, preferably online or in digital form, of the Criminal Codes and Codes of Criminal Procedure of the Member States of the Council of Europe. It would be appreciated if any links or references to such translations from your respective European languages could be sent to EULITA member James Brannan at james.brannan@echr.coe.int.

EULITA members and participants in the Krakow conference “New Tasks for Legal Interpreters and Translators in the Enlarged Europe” will have an opportunity to exchange their ideas and experiences about the requirements of national/regional registers of legal interpreters and translators as well as the management of these registers in a workshop that will be held immediately before the 4th General Assembly of EULITA at Hotel Europejski in Krakow on Saturday.
