The final conference of the QUALITY project (Quality in Translation) takes place in Antwerp, Belgium, on 16 and 17 October 2014. Early bird registration ends on 31 August, and the deadline for registrations is 1 October. For details please refer to the attached programme.

The Executive Committee of EULITA is delighted to be able to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FIT (= FIT Europe). 

FIT has adopted a policy of such memoranda, and CIUTI and EULITA are the first organisations to establish such a relationship under this new policy of cooperation with international and/or European organisations (Article 4 (c) of the FIT Bylaws).

The Croatian Association of Court Interpreters and Translators (ACIT) and the Law Faculty of the University of Rijeka are jointly organizing a conference entitled Professionalization vs. Deprofessionalization: Building Standards for Legal Interpreters and Translators on 20 and 21 March 2015, which will be sponsored by EULITA and will precede the EULITA General Assembly. The focus of the conference is placed on legal interpreters and translators vs.

The QUALETRA Final Conference is the final activity of the QUALETRA project on training, assessment, certification and accreditation of legal translators in criminal proceedings. The consortium will present the results to all stakeholders and give the floor to external experts. The conference aims to bring together an EU-wide platform for the exchange of best practices and experience. This will lead to a stronger harmonization of training courses and an increased awareness of the issue of quality in legal translation in the Member States.

The LIT Search project was launched in Antwerp on 6 and 7 May with the participation of all project members.

6th May: Group invited to a walking dinner at the Meir Palace. This gave everyone a chance to socialize & get to know each other.

7th May: Group met at 9 am for a one-day meeting at university campus.
