DG Translation accepted a proposal for a Translating Europe Workshop on the topic of "New Developments in Legal Translation" to be held at the House of the European Union in Vienna on 30 March 2017 from 14:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs. WITTA (World Interpreter and Translator Training Association) launched 28/11/2016 17:55

On 18 November 2016, representatives of forty world-renowned colleges and universities, prestigious academic journals and sci-tech enterprises convened in Guangzhou, discussed and agreed on the establishment of the World Interpreter and Translator Training Association (WITTA). At the meeting, representatives of the Founding Members also discussed and approved WITTA Guangzhou Declaration, The WITTA Charter, The Governance of WITTA, and finally The Resolution of WITTA Founding Meeting.

EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) publishes INFOCRIM report 22/11/2016 12:39

The EU Fundamental Rights Agency published its INFOCRIM report on the transposition of Directive 2010/64/EU. EULITA members contributed to this report by sending their replies to a survey sent out last year. The report "Rights of suspected and accused persons across the EU: translation, interpretation and information" was commissioned by DG Justice and will support it in preparing the report to the European Parliament.
